About

I am a curatorial worker based in Malmö, south of Sweden. At the moment I am working as a project manager at Malmö Konsthall, where I have coordinated exhibitions with for exemple Joan Jonas, Damian Ortega, Rosa Barba, Michael Rakowitz, Hassan Sharif, Luca Frei etc.

My latest freelance project as a curator is, Deep Sea, which was shown at Städtische Galerie Bremen (late 2018) and Ystads Art Museum (summer 2019). The exhibiton is co-curated together with Alexandra Waligorski, (freelance curator), Ingmar Lähnemann, (curator, Städtische Galerie Bremen) and Ýrr Jonasdottir, (director at Ystads Art Museum).

In 2016 I co-curated the exhibition Trekking in Time at Ystad Art Museum, together with my hiking friend Yrr Jónasdóttir. Trekking in Time is an international group exhibition that presented art works by artists that have worked with hiking from different perspectives. It included artworks that where both historical and contemporary, where the artists have used hiking as an action, artistic expression or as a performance.

I am the co-founder of the art organization Electrohype, created in 1999 to promote and highlight what was then still an emerging field of electronic arts. Together with Lars Gustav Midbøe, I curated and produced a line, often highly technically demanding exhibitions at established institutions such as Malmö Konsthall, Lund Konsthall, Museum of Sketches and Ystad Art Museum. Electrotype also worked with a number of other event and projects, such as gallery activities, organized conferences, lectures, audio performances and workshops.

Producing several electronic art exhibitions has provided me with experience in curating technically advanced exhibitions and given me a broad technological knowledge and understanding.

Otherwise, I have a great interest for nature and hiking. In 2013 I completed a 3 month hiking in the mountains of France and Italy and I plan to make a 2 month hike, crossing the Pyrenees, due to Covid this hike has been postponed. Follow my hiking experience on Mountain Hikers– a website by me and my hiking partner Yrr Jónasdóttir.
